2016 Moms Meet WOW Summit- Details and a Discount!

Moms Meet 2016

You may remember when I wrote about attending the first Moms Meet WOW Summit in 2014. That was held in sunny Orlando and was a great conference with speakers covering all sorts of topics from raising healthy kids and avoiding toxins in our environment to  how to cook quick, healthy meals during the week!

The exhibit hall was one of my favorites with samples and giveaways from various health-focused/natural product companies such as Maty’s Healthy Products, Smartflour, Zevia, Kidfresh and more.

The event is sponsored by Moms Meet and targeted towards moms but I think it’s a great event for anyone who cares about (or wants to learn about) how to live a heathy, safe lifestyle! The conference brings healthy-minded moms and bloggers (if you’re a blogger- or want to be- Friday is all about blogging!) together to attend expert-led seminars and workshops, sample amazing products, build lifelong connections and have fun!

Moms MeetThis year, the event will be held in the Washington, D.C. area at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center
National Harbor in Maryland on October 7-8 (Columbus Day weekend).

I am going (it’s not too far a drive from the Capital Region – and a QUICK flight, if you prefer) and I’d love to have you meet me there!

Here are 3 great reasons why you should attend:

  1. The speakers and their presentations!

I was so impressed by the level of speakers they had at the first event! The executive director of EWG, the creator of the Six O’Clock Scramble, the “Erin Brockovich of Food” (Robyn O’Brien) and Tracy Paige Johnson (creator of Blue’s Clues)- to name a few. They presented amazing information and gave top notch advice. Their stories, research and advocacy were tear-provoking, eye-opening and inspiring! (You will never look at a strawberry the same way again.)

This year is sure not to disappoint with Dr. Drew Ramsey (author of “The Happiness Diet”), Lenore Skenazy (author of Free-Range Kids and Mad Magazine contributor) and many more great speakers!

2. Grown up time fun!

The event organizers know that we need to get out sometimes so enjoy a free comedy night (and a free drink) with comedienne  Dena Blizzard!

And did I mention this event is taking place at a resort? With a spa? With a really awesome rate of $169/night?

3. Tons of fun, free stuff!

Okay, I admit it, one of the things I love about conferences like these are the take-home goodies. And at this one you get A LOT. Not only do they hand out freebies in the exhibit hall (many of them full-sized products), but they give away products in some of the workshops AND every attendee leaves with a goodie bag filled with over $100 worth of products to try and coupons for free items.

And this is not junk we’re talking about this. The goodie bag comes packed with new, healthy foods to sample (granola bars, cereal, crackers), vitamins, organic teas, kids items and plenty more!

My favorite item was this adorable juice/water sippy cup that my kids love! (retails for $11.95).

4. And here’s a bonus reason to attend- visiting the D.C. area as a long weekend trip!

Right nearby the resort is a giant ferris wheel! With D.C. only 8 miles from the resort, there is plenty to do and see while you’re there and it’s being held on Columbus Day weekend so you may even have an extra day to spend there!
