One of the vendors I met at the Moms Meet WOW Summit this year was Juicy Gems. They were promoting their pomegranate seeds, one of my favorite fruits, that are sold fresh, frozen and dried (coming soon!) in stores across the country.
In the Capital Region, Walmart and Hannaford carry them. I found the frozen pomegranate seeds (available year round) at Walmart tucked in with the frozen berries:
If you’re a pomegranate fan like me, you probably know fresh pomegranates are typically only available in fall/winter in NY. How nice to have a version available anytime!

Here are a few of the seeds defrosted. They do “leak” a little juice as they defrost but I did not find much difference when I ate them with usual yogurt and cereal.
My kids are also big fans of pomegranates and they added them to ice cream:
There was no set date when I spoke with Juicy Gems for when the dried version would be available but we did get to sample them at the Summit! They chewy and sweet and would be perfect in trail mix or any place you currently use raisins or cranberries.
What a fun company! They even gave away pomegranate stress relievers, which my kids scooped up for their play kitchen!
