Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers

Have you seen the new Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers packaging? They took the same product but put it in smaller, compact packaging. More convenient for storage.

To coincide with back to school, General Mills gave me a free Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers package to try for when I’m (we’re) running out of ideas for dinner during the busy week. Their website is a quick place to find new recipes using the steamed vegetables.

Here is what we tried:

And I chose to make this recipe for Healthier Sloppy Joes from their Easy Peasy Meals collection but I have to say, they have lots of intriguing (and many healthy) recipes on this site. Next I want to try their Harissa Green Beans and Kale recipe.

The secret to the Healthier Sloppy Joes is to puree a box of frozen vegetables and add it to the meat! Next you add the sauce and the veggies are all “hidden.”

I used the teriyaki vegetables even though the recipe called for another kind and it still came out great!

My husband, a self-proclaimed “sloppy Joe connoisseur” declared these the “best sloppy joes” he had ever had! Wow. (I waited until after dinner to tell him how many hidden vegetables were in it!)
