I recently had the chance to attend The Cooking School at the Market Bistro in Latham for the second time. This time, I was invited along with other bloggers from the Capital Region to participate in the class “Two Guys and a Grill.”
What a great place!
In this class, two chefs cooked for us and provided lots of tips along the way. (I especially appreciated the some of the baking tips that were sprinkled throughout the two hours, even though it was a grilling course.) We learned how to grill three types of meat and learned how to make three “steakhouse style” side dishes. Each “meal” they prepared we got to sample.
Though I’m not a red meat eater (ironic to be invited to this class, I know), I sampled everything else and was in love with the homemade chimichurri sauce! So easy to make with a handful of fresh parsley. I was SO good! Here is a link to their recipe: Chimichurri Sauce.
The class was sponsored by Price Chopper and Certified Angus Beef (Did you know Certified Angus Beef is a brand and not a type of meat?? Shows how much I know about meat.)
I highly recommend trying out a class at The Cooking School. Price Chopper has just announced their September classes so I bet there is still room to sign up. We attended a kid’s Frozen-themed class in the spring and it was wonderful- but they fill up fast!
Here is a sampling of what is coming up starting next week:
Lunch and Learn: Making Fresh Pasta
Taste Bud: A is for Apple, B is for Baking (for kids 5-8)
Junior Chef: Kids Cook Italian (for kids 9-14)
Popular Restaurant Sauces
Girls Night Out: Chocolate Decadence
Canning Workshop
Gluten-Free Fall Baking
Classes cost between $20 and $60 (and some even come with a glass of wine! 🙂 Find out more online HERE.
Enjoy and let me know if you go!!
